The European SET Plan Conference will take place in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham (RHK), Dublin, Ireland on 7-8 May 2013, under Ireland’s Presidency of the EU. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, on behalf of the Irish Government’s Department of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, is hosting this important conference in partnership with the European Commission. The Conference will hold discussions on EU progress in accelerating the development and market roll-out of energy technologies.
The conference will entail representation from European Commissioners and National Ministerial representatives where key messages will be conveyed concerning the future important role that energy research will play in decarbonising our societies. A Gala Dinner is scheduled after the first conference day which, in conjunction with other networking opportunities, will enable attendees to reflect upon the Conference sessions, and to discuss the possible outcome and conclusions, which will be the a key topic of the final conference day. EuroSME2013, a conference organised under the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU entitled “Innovation: A business Opportunity for SMEs” will focus on how these enterprises can integrate innovative methods in their business activity to achieve EU objective. The event, co-sponsored byEnterprise Ireland and the Commission, will bring together hundreds of entrepreneurs, policy makers, SME support organisations from the private and public sectors to create a networking experience and an opportunity to exchange ideas on how small companies can contribute to growth despite the challenges of the 21st century. Horizon 2020, the EU’s upcoming Framework Programme for Research and Innovation will be another highlight of the conference with presentations focusing on the SME-related specific features of the Programme.
